Location: .22 Rifle Range
The Prince Rupert Rod and Gun Club held another productive volunteer work party on Saturday morning at the new .22 rifle range. Dedicated members came out despite the cool November weather to help prepare the site for its next major improvement: a new concrete floor.
Volunteers spent the morning laying out a solid and level base in preparation for the upcoming pour. This work is a significant step toward enhancing the safety, usability, and long-term durability of the .22 range. The improved flooring will help create a cleaner, more accessible space for youth programs, recreational shooters, and future training events.
The club extends a big thank-you to everyone who showed up, brought tools, and put in the effort. Projects like this move forward because of the strong community support behind the club, and Saturday’s turnout was another great example of that commitment.
More work parties will be announced as the project continues — and all members are welcome to participate. Together, we’re building a better facility for the whole community to enjoy.
In addition to the concrete prep, the crew made the most of the day by tackling several other important maintenance tasks around the range. Volunteers completed brushing work to open up and clean the surrounding area, and cleared out the gutters, helping improve drainage and prepare the facilities for winter weather.
